Waking up at the beautiful white house on the second of February, our bags packed and hearts raring, we headed back to the station to set off to Luxembourg.
Luxembourg is well known for being a very expensive country and that was shown in the price for hostels. Since it is also very small we decided to see it as a day trip. Despite it being an expensive place, all transport is free which fortunately for us meant less walking with our big bags on. We didn’t spend too long there as Ben felt exhausted so we bee-lined straight for the panoramic elevator. Basically a straight up elevator which is free to use and takes you up to a view point which has a glass floor. After that we got a bus to the station to head to Nancy, a lay over spot between Luxembourg and our next stop: Switzerland.
I would definitely say Luxembourg isn’t a ‘must-visit’ place. I’m happy we went as now i can say i’ve been but there isn’t much there to see or do, at least not on a budget. I imagine it’s nice for walks though such as seeing Vianden and the castle there. We did plan on going there and possibly camping but it’s important to prioritise rest so we did miss it out for a more comfortable night.
