I’d rather Bratislava

Spontaneously we decided to visit Bratislava after Vienna due to them being so close. So on the 19th of March we set off. We got in decently late so found ourselves way to the hostel : Patio Hostel, £11.95 a night. The first thing we needed to do on arrival was a clothes wash and thankfully the hostel had washing machines. We figured out how to use them and then waited the whole time till they were done to then peg our clothes up. Such housewives. With our chores done and coffee indulged we went back to our room as i was knackered.

Spoiler alert: It was a long night. The room was full with over 30 year old men, who walked around in their boxers and seemed not the safest. To top it off, an orchestra of snoring begun at night with a harmony over the top of sleeptalking. Sleeptalking is spooky anyway but in a foreign language it’s even spookier! We went down and got some free earplugs in hope it would help us sleep. Eventually i got to sleep, with the help of an episode of Scooby Doo.

20th March –

We explored the city all day, seeing the Presidential Palace, Bratislava Castle, Napoleon’s statue, The man at work and the Blue Church. It was an alright place and everything was a decent price. We were happy to have visited as it ticked off another country, however it didn’t stand out in any way.

When we got back, we took our washing in, cooked some luxurious food of chicken nuggets and salad in the guest kitchen and prepared for another non silent night.

21st March –

After our little impromptu trip we were glad to be back on route and out of the very ‘interesting’ hostel. Full steam ahead to Krakow!

MUST SEE’s :

  • Man at Work
  • Napoleon’s Statue
  • Blue Church
  • Bratislava Castle
  • Presidential Palace
